Jennifer Lopez speaks out against the dangers of Artificial Intelligence in her new film “Atlas”
Jennifer Lopez, the multi-talented actor-singer, has recently spoken out about the dangers of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how she personally fell victim to its negative effects. In her new film, Atlas, which just premiered on Netflix, Jennifer explores the potential benefits and drawbacks of AI.
During the film’s Los Angeles premiere, Jennifer shared her own experience of being exploited by AI. She revealed that her photos were morphed to make her face appear covered in wrinkles for a skincare brand’s marketing campaign. This incident left her feeling violated and exposed to the dark side of AI.
Speaking to Variety at the premiere, Jennifer expressed her concerns about AI, stating, “It’s really scary. Right away we had them stealing our faces. So, yes, [AI] is really scary. I think you should be respectful of AI…We have to be open to all possibilities. These movies that are talking about AI — especially this one — do a really good job of showing both sides.”
In Atlas, directed by Brad Peyton, Jennifer plays the role of Atlas Shepherd, a data analyst who must rely on AI to save the Earth from an evil robot. The film also stars Sterling K. Brown and has quickly become one of Netflix’s top 10 most-watched movies over Memorial Day weekend.
Jennifer’s personal experience with AI exploitation sheds light on the potential dangers of this technology and serves as a cautionary tale for the future. As AI continues to advance, it is crucial for individuals to be aware of the risks and to approach this technology with caution.
