Former Capitol Police Officer Michael Fanone Speaks Out Against Trump and Faces Swatting Incident

Former police officer Michael Fanone, who was brutally attacked during the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, spoke out against former President Donald Trump during closing arguments in Trump’s hush money trial. Fanone called Trump “an authoritarian” with “a violence fetish.” However, the aftermath of his powerful words took a disturbing turn when his mother was targeted in a dangerous “swatting” incident at her home in Virginia.

The situation escalated further when a fake “manifesto” attributed to Fanone was circulated, threatening violence at a high school and providing his mother’s address. Fanone expressed his shock and outrage at the dangerous consequences of challenging Trump, highlighting the risks involved in speaking out against the former president.

The Fairfax County Police Department’s threat assessment management team assisted in the investigation, but the Alexandria Police Department and the FBI did not immediately comment on the incident. Fanone, who has been vocal about the Capitol attack and the role of Trump’s lies in inciting violence, named four individuals who assaulted him on Jan. 6, all of whom were Trump supporters.
