Motorcyclist loses control on Interstate 81, gets hit by tractor-trailer, Pennsylvania State Police say

The Pennsylvania State Police have reported a tragic incident on Interstate 81 in Franklin County over the weekend. A motorcyclist, identified as Mark Cramer Jr., 33, from Newburg, lost control of his 2020 Harley-Davidson while heading south on the interstate near mile marker 6.7 in Antrim Township. The motorcyclist was separated from his bike, which ended up in the median, and he was left in the roadway.

Preliminary evidence suggests that a tractor-trailer hit Cramer, resulting in his tragic death at the scene. The crash led to the closure of part of I-81 for nearly five hours. The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating the incident further to determine the exact cause of the crash.

This unfortunate event serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance while driving. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Mark Cramer Jr. during this difficult time.
