Top 10 Most Liveable Cities in the World in 2024
The Global Liveability Index 2024 has been released, revealing the top 10 most liveable cities in the world. Vienna, Austria, has once again claimed the top spot for the third consecutive year. The index, which evaluates 173 cities based on various indicators such as stability, healthcare, culture, environment, education, and infrastructure, shows a slight improvement in overall liveability scores.
Western Europe continues to dominate as the most liveable region, followed by North America and Asia-Pacific. Eastern Europe has seen significant improvements in healthcare and education, while Latin America, the Middle East, and North Africa have also recorded higher scores in these areas. However, Sub-Saharan Africa remains the least liveable region globally.
In the 2024 index, five Indian cities were featured, with Delhi and Mumbai tied at 141st place with a score of 60.2 out of 100. This highlights the importance of creating well-designed, sustainable, and inclusive cities that offer a high standard of living for residents.
The average score across all cities surveyed increased to 76.1 out of 100, indicating a marginal enhancement in the quality of life for urban residents worldwide. The Global Liveability Index serves as a valuable tool for individuals looking to relocate or invest in cities that offer the best quality of life.
