Former President Trump endorses primary challenger against Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good, R-Va.
Former President Trump has made waves in the political arena once again by endorsing a primary challenger against Freedom Caucus Chair Bob Good, R-Va. Trump took to his Truth Social platform to express his disapproval of Good, stating that he is “BAD FOR VIRGINIA, AND BAD FOR THE USA.”
The endorsement comes after Good attempted to mend fences with Trump, even endorsing him for president after initially supporting Gov. Ron DeSantis, R-Fla., in the 2024 race. However, Trump made it clear that Good’s efforts were “too late” and that he had turned his back on the movement.
In response to Trump’s endorsement, Good’s primary challenger, Virginia state Sen. John McGuire, received the former president’s full support. Trump praised McGuire as a “true American Hero” and emphasized the need to “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN.”
Good’s campaign did not provide a comment to Fox News Digital, but it is clear that he faces a tough battle in the upcoming primary. McGuire has also secured the endorsement of the Republican Jewish Coalition, citing Good’s vote against aid for Israel as a point of contention.
This endorsement is not the only challenge Good faces, as fellow Republican Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, hinted at campaigning against him in Virginia after Good endorsed Gonzales’ primary challenger.
As the political landscape continues to shift, it will be interesting to see how Good navigates these challenges and whether Trump’s endorsement will sway voters in the upcoming primary. Stay tuned for more updates on this developing story.
