Rama Rao, and Dr Pemmasani himself has been actively involved in supporting TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, even organizing events for him in the US.

In the 2024 elections, Dr Pemmasani contested and won the Guntur seat, defeating his opponent by a significant margin. Known as one of the wealthiest candidates in the elections, he has declared his family’s wealth at over ₹5,785 crore.
