The Future of Hollywood Philanthropy: Stars Gather for Social Impact Summit
Hollywood’s biggest names are coming together for a special summit on July 11 to discuss “The Future of Hollywood Philanthropy.” Hosted by the nonprofit Social Impact Fund and The Hollywood Reporter, the inaugural Social Impact Summit will feature stars like Sharon Stone, Charlize Theron, Wilson Cruz, and Thomas Sadoski.
Presented by Gilead, a leader in antiviral medications, the summit will include keynote speeches and panel discussions on various topics related to philanthropy in Hollywood. Stone, a longtime supporter of amfAR, will deliver a keynote address at the event.
The summit will feature three panels, including discussions on partnerships, corporate giving, raising funds, and awareness for crucial causes. The event will also honor Feeding America as The Hollywood Reporter’s Philanthropic Organization of the Year, recognizing their innovative work in fighting hunger in the U.S.
Celebrities like Julie Bowen, a supporter of Feeding America, will be present to honor Claire Babineaux-Fontenot, CEO of Feeding America. The summit will be sponsored by Gilead, Charitybuzz, Jackson Family Wines, and Voss.
According to THR deputy editor Degen Pener, the summit aims to explore new ways for the entertainment industry to partner with charitable organizations and make a positive impact. The event will also coincide with the publication of THR’s annual Philanthropy Issue, highlighting the top players in entertainment philanthropy.
The Social Impact Fund, which works with leading Hollywood philanthropists, was named the 2023 Philanthropic Organization of the Year. The summit organizers hope to inspire new ideas and creative solutions for philanthropy in Hollywood and beyond.
