A juvenile accidentally shot himself at a Phoenix ice cream shop, according to officials with the Phoenix Police Department. The boy was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Officers responded to the business near 51st Avenue and Baseline Road around 7:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. The boy, whose age was not disclosed, is expected to be okay.

Detectives are currently investigating the scene to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
