Golf Holidays Direct Partners with Golf Foundation to Support Mental Wellbeing in Schools

Golf Holidays Direct has recently announced an extended partnership with the Golf Foundation to support the Unleash Your Drive in Schools initiative. The golf travel specialists raised an impressive £5,700 for the Golf Foundation during a special fundraising event at their recent Masters visit.

The Unleash Your Drive in Schools initiative, spearheaded by Golf Foundation President Nick Dougherty, aims to revolutionize mental wellbeing in primary schools through a specially created mental toughness golf programme. The six-week programme, which can be delivered by teachers using digital resources and specially adapted Golfway equipment, focuses on fun and inclusive games with mental toughness tools embedded throughout.

Early studies have shown a 19% increase in mental wellbeing among participants, with improvements in concentration, confidence, emotional control, and determination. Over 700 schools have already expressed interest in the initiative, and the Golf Foundation is working to provide the programme as a fully funded offer to those in need.

Lewis Remington, Managing Director of Golf Holidays Direct, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “We want to help the Foundation not only grow the game of golf but also provide access to the game for thousands of young people across the UK in their own environment.”

Brendon Pyle, CEO of the Golf Foundation, expressed gratitude for the support from Golf Holidays Direct, saying, “What they have delivered far exceeds our expectations and will help us deliver golf to more young people from all backgrounds.”

To support the initiative and have a chance to win one of three places in the BMW PGA Championship Pro-Am at Wentworth this year, golfers can play golf in May and register their score along with a donation to the Golf Foundation. For more information, visit www.golf-foundation.org.
