Hispanics highlight efforts to resist progressive ideology

Hispanic Christian Activists Warn of Lack of Faith in Churches Leading to Greater Support for Democrats

The lack of faith in churches among Hispanic communities has led to greater support for Democrats and progressives, according to conservative Hispanic Christian activists. Despite their beliefs aligning with conservative and Republican values, many Hispanics are swaying towards the left due to a disconnect between faith and politics.

At the recent Road to Majority conference hosted by the Faith & Freedom Coalition in Washington, D.C., Hispanic activists gathered to discuss their efforts in advancing the conservative cause within the Hispanic community. The panel, titled “Hispanic Voices for Faith and Freedom,” highlighted the importance of intertwining faith and politics to combat progressive ideologies in education and culture.

Adianis Morales, the Florida and Puerto Rico Hispanic Director for the Faith & Freedom Coalition, emphasized the need for pastors to defend biblical values and encourage Christians to vote according to their beliefs. Morales also spoke out against radical sex education in schools, leading protests and holding school boards accountable for their actions.

Dorcas Hernandez, founder of the organization “Don’t Mess With Our Kids” in Peru, shared her motivation for launching the advocacy group, which aims to protect children from progressive government policies. The movement has spread to over 30 nations in Latin America and recently launched in the United States to safeguard American children and bring the nation back to God.

Despite the efforts of conservative faith-based advocacy groups, exit polling data shows that a majority of Hispanics continue to support Democrats at the national level. In the 2020 presidential election, 65% of Latinos voted for Joe Biden, while 32% supported Donald Trump. In the 2022 midterm elections, 60% of Latinos backed Democrats, with 39% voting for Republicans.

As conservative activists work to bridge the gap between faith and politics within the Hispanic community, the battle for votes and values continues to shape the political landscape in America.
