Rishi Sunak prioritises economic stability and insists plan is working

Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, has been on the campaign trail today, spreading the message that the Conservative Party will always prioritize economic stability. Speaking at a local business in Stoke-on-Trent, Sunak highlighted the success of local businesses in propelling “Brexit Britain” to become the fourth-largest exporter in the world, surpassing countries like the Netherlands, France, and Germany.

Acknowledging the challenges of the past few years, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, Sunak emphasized the government’s support through initiatives like the furlough scheme and energy bill assistance. He pointed to positive economic indicators such as decreasing inflation, rising wages, and a growing economy, declaring that the UK has “turned a corner” and that the Conservative Party’s plan is working.

In response to Labour’s promise to bring stability back to government, Sunak asserted that the Tories have already restored economic stability and will always prioritize it. He urged voters to consider who they trust to build on the foundation laid by the Conservatives for the future, warning that Labour would run out of money and raise taxes.

Sunak also highlighted the need for a bold plan and clear action in the face of a dangerous and uncertain world, promoting his Rwanda plan as a solution that other European countries are considering. He criticized Labour leader Keir Starmer for lacking new ideas and taking the country for granted, accusing him of planning to offer amnesty to illegal migrants and making the UK a “magnet”.

As the election approaches, Sunak urged voters to consider the stark differences between the two parties and the implications of their choices for the future of the country. With the economy at the forefront of the campaign, Sunak’s message of economic stability and growth will likely resonate with voters as they head to the polls.
