IndiGo, India’s leading airline, to introduce business class on specific planes

IndiGo Airlines to Introduce Business Class Cabin on Selected Aircraft and Routes

IndiGo Airlines, known for its no-frills, low-cost approach, is set to make a major change by introducing a business-class cabin on selected aircraft and routes by the end of the year. This shift comes as CEO Pieter Elbers acknowledges the increasing demand for premium travel and the need to cater to the corporate market.

The new business-class product will be tailored for the busiest routes in India, including tier-one metro markets like Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, and Bengaluru. Additionally, business class will be offered on select flights to key international cities such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Singapore.

This announcement comes on the heels of IndiGo Airlines reporting its highest-ever annual net profit, signaling the success of their strategic initiatives. With a fleet primarily consisting of Airbus narrowbodies, IndiGo is looking to expand its global reach with an extensive order of nearly 1,000 aircraft.

CEO Elbers sees these aircraft orders as a crucial part of IndiGo’s strategy to become a global aviation player and contribute to India’s goal of developing into a global aviation hub. With more details about the new business-class cabin set to be revealed in August, passengers can expect a new level of luxury and comfort on their IndiGo flights in the near future.
