Stories from the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials Gymnastics
University of Florida gymnast Leanne Wong is not your average student-athlete. Balancing a rigorous pre-med course load with elite gymnastics training, Wong is not only aiming for the Paris Olympics but also hopes to attend medical school in the future.
A member of the last three world championship teams, Wong managed to compete in an entire NCAA gymnastics season with the Gators this year while also taking organic chemistry classes over the summer. In an interview with NBC News, Wong shared, “Honestly, I kind of like to have different things going on. So I’m not too focused on one thing, so I have different things, different goals, different schedules.”
But that’s not all – in addition to her academic and athletic pursuits, Wong also runs her own bow business, showcasing her entrepreneurial spirit alongside her impressive gymnastics skills.
As the world watches the trials unfold and Olympic dreams are realized or shattered, Leanne Wong stands out as a shining example of determination and ambition, proving that with hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
