North Hills Welcomes 5 New Members to Sports Hall of Fame


North Hills School District Announces 2024 Sports Hall of Fame Inductees

The North Hills School District in Ross Township, PA, has announced the latest inductees to its Sports Hall of Fame for 2024. These outstanding individuals will be honored at a special dinner on August 29 at Rico’s Restaurant and recognized at the varsity football game against Seneca Valley on August 30 at Martorelli Stadium.

The five new inductees are:

1. Dr. Robert Potter – Community Member: Dr. Potter served as the team doctor for North Hills for many years, following in the footsteps of his father. He retired in 2022 but continues to volunteer as a coach for North Hills teams.

2. Matthew Drozd – Class of 2001: Drozd was a standout swimmer, qualifying for the WPIAL Championships all four years of his high school career. He was a three-time WPIAL champion in the 50-yard freestyle and earned multiple medals in other events.

3. Libby Gasior – Class of 2000: Gasior excelled in softball, basketball, and soccer at North Hills. She is currently the head softball coach and led the team to two WPIAL championships, one as a player in 2000 and another as a coach in 2021.

4. Cory Lacek – Class of 2004: Lacek was a key player on the North Hills football team and also participated in track & field. He received all-conference honors and helped lead the team to a section championship.

5. Ava Pietrzyk – Class of 2017: Pietrzyk was a standout in cross country and track and field, earning multiple WPIAL and PIAA medals. She was also named MVP in cross country.

These exceptional individuals have left a lasting impact on the North Hills sports community and will now be forever enshrined in the school’s Sports Hall of Fame. Congratulations to the 2024 inductees!
