United Airlines Flight Engine Catches Fire During Takeoff at Chicago Airport: Scary Video Goes Viral

A United Airlines flight at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport made headlines on Monday, May 27, when one of its engines caught fire during takeoff. The dramatic incident was captured on camera, showing smoke billowing out from one of the wings as the plane was preparing to fly to Seattle.

The engine of United Flight 2091 burst into flames on the taxiway, leading to the evacuation of 148 passengers and five crew members. The Federal Aviation Administration and United Airlines confirmed the emergency situation and stated that no injuries were reported.

A viral video of the incident, filmed by a passenger inside the plane, has been circulating on social media. The footage shows the terrifying moment when the engine caught fire, causing panic among the passengers. Ivan Paloalto, the passenger who recorded the video, described hearing an explosion just before the plane was about to take off.

“I felt the impact on my window. As I looked, the engine was on fire and smoke was coming out,” Paloalto recounted.

The FAA had to temporarily halt arrivals at the airport, but regular operations resumed shortly after. United Airlines assured that the issue with the engine was promptly addressed by first responders and that the passengers were able to deplane safely.

Unfortunately, this incident was not the only travel disruption over the Memorial Day weekend. Passengers at JFK International Airport in New York also faced flight delays due to dangerous thunderstorms. Despite the challenges, airlines are working to make alternative travel arrangements for affected customers.

The video of the United Airlines engine fire has sparked concern among travelers, highlighting the importance of safety measures in air travel. As investigations into the incident continue, passengers are reminded to remain vigilant and informed while flying.
