Central Energy Softball Weekend Recap: U15 Splits Doubleheader, U17 Defeats Manitoba Angels, U13 Gains Experience in Saskatoon

Central Energy U15 and U17 teams had an eventful weekend in Brandon, with both squads showcasing their skills on the softball field. The U15 team split a doubleheader against Westman Magic, while the U17 team secured victories against Manitoba Angels. Additionally, the U13 team gained valuable experience in the Saskatoon President’s Tournament.

In the U15 doubleheader, Central Energy displayed strong defense and offensive prowess in their 5-4 victory over Westman Magic. Taylor Wall’s late-game heroics, including a solo home run, propelled the team to victory. The Energy’s solid pitching and timely hitting led them to success in the first game. However, they faced a heartbreaker in the second game, losing a close 9-8 contest despite a strong offensive performance.

On the other hand, the U17 squad dominated their games against Manitoba Angels, with Brooklyn Friesen leading the charge with powerful hitting, including two home runs in the second game. The team’s strong pitching and offensive output secured two convincing wins, maintaining their first-place standing in the Manitoba Premier Softball League standings.

Meanwhile, the U13 team traveled to Saskatoon for the President’s Tournament, facing tough competition and gaining valuable experience. Despite not securing a win, the team showed improvement and resilience throughout the tournament. Players like Mackenzie Bartlett, Kylie Wiebe, and Hailey Baldwin showcased their skills and determination on the field, setting the stage for a strong return to league play.
