Biden’s Possible Remarks After Trump Verdict
President Joe Biden may break his silence on his predecessor’s legal matters as the jury reaches a verdict in the case against former President Donald Trump. However, logistical challenges present uncertainty in planning for any potential remarks.
Biden, who has been on the road for much of the next two weeks, is scheduled to headline a campaign event in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, before traveling to Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware to remember his late son, Beau Biden, who passed away nine years ago from brain cancer.
On Friday, Biden is set to hold a bilateral meeting with the Belgian prime minister to discuss plans to utilize Russian assets in Western banks to fund Ukraine’s defense. This move is crucial, as Belgium holds the majority of these funds but has reservations about the precedent it may set.
Later on Friday, Biden will welcome the Kansas City Chiefs to the White House to celebrate their second consecutive Super Bowl win in what is expected to be a light-hearted event.
If the jury deliberations extend into the following week, Biden may be en route to France to commemorate the anniversary of D-Day and attend a state dinner. During this time, his son, Hunter Biden, will be on trial for charges related to false statements on a firearm purchase form during a period of drug addiction.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has not confirmed whether Biden will address a verdict in Trump’s trial or provide insights into how he will monitor his son’s trial. The uncertainty surrounding the timing of the jury’s decision adds complexity to any potential statements from the President.
