Results and Highlights from Virginia High School League Spring Sports Regions
The Virginia High School League calendar for spring sports is heating up as state tournament season approaches. Regions recently held tournaments for tennis and track and field, with some exciting results to report.
In Region 6A, Deep Run hosted Glen Allen for the team title, with standout player Zack Fleishman from Deep Run emerging victorious in singles play. Fleishman, a James Madison recruit, defeated his teammate Grant Kroodsma to claim the title. The duo also teamed up to win the doubles title against Glen Allen’s Ryan Good and Ibrahim Siddqui.
Moving on to Region 5C, Midlothian secured the team title by defeating Douglas Freeman 5-4. Dylan Chou from Douglas Freeman won the singles title, while the doubles title went to Douglas Freeman’s duo of Chou and Daniel Lim.
In Region 4B, Hanover hosted Atlee for the team title, with Powhatan junior Jamison Wallace and Monacan junior Izaak Brown emerging victorious in singles and doubles play, respectively.
