Prince Harry Describes Balmoral as “Paradise” and Could Spend Summer in Scotland with Meghan Markle
Prince Harry has expressed his love for Balmoral, describing it as “paradise,” as rumors swirl that King Charles will extend an invitation to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex to spend the summer in Scotland. The royal retreat holds a special place in Harry’s heart, as he spent much of his childhood there and has fond memories of his time at the estate.
In his memoir Spare, Harry reminisced about his time at Balmoral, saying, “To me Balmoral was always simply Paradise. A cross between Disney World and some sacred Druid grove.” He added, “I was always too busy fishing, shooting, running up and down ‘the hill’ to notice anything off about the Feng Shui of the old castle. What I’m trying to say is, I was happy there.”
While King Charles is expected to extend the traditional invitation to Harry and Meghan, royal expert Tom Quinn believes the couple will decline. Quinn explained, “Harry and Meghan feel that turning up at Balmoral will put them on the back foot as it’s very much Royal Home turf.” Additionally, Harry’s strained relationship with his brother Prince William may also play a role in their decision to decline the invitation.
Despite the potential invitation, it seems unlikely that Harry and Meghan will make the trip to Balmoral this summer. The royal estate holds a special place in Harry’s heart, but it appears that other factors may prevent the Sussexes from accepting the invitation. Stay tuned for more updates on this royal saga.
