WEATHER AUTHORITY FORECAST – WEDNESDAY, MAY 29TH – LATE AFTERNOON UPDATE

The Weather Authority Forecast for Wednesday, May 29th has brought some unexpected cool temperatures to the Tri-State area, with highs only reaching into the upper-60s. Chief Meteorologist John Gumm reports that the area has also seen a few spotty showers throughout the day, which are expected to fade away after sunset.

As we head into the evening, temperatures will continue to drop through the 60s and into the 50s, with a slight chance of showers lingering overnight. Thursday is looking to be a much sunnier day, with milder temperatures reaching into the lower-70s. The trend continues into Friday, with even warmer temperatures in the upper-70s, and Saturday is expected to be in the lower-80s.

However, Saturday will also bring the arrival of a new weather system, bringing showers and thunderstorms to the area late in the afternoon and evening. This marks the beginning of a more active weather pattern, with multiple waves of energy expected to bring scattered showers and storms to the region.

While there is no immediate threat of severe storms, Chief Meteorologist John Gumm advises residents to stay updated on the weather forecast as stronger storms can occasionally develop in patterns like this. Despite the cooler temperatures in the coming days, next week is expected to bring more summer-like weather, with highs in the lower-80s.
