Kingsport Chamber Hires Brea Roberts to Lead Appalachian Highlands Women’s Business Center
The Kingsport Chamber has made a significant move by hiring Brea Roberts to lead the Appalachian Highlands Women’s Business Center, one of only 17 new Women’s Business Centers across the country announced by the U.S. Small Business Administration. The center, located at 400 Clinchfield St. in Downtown Kingsport, will serve 10 counties in Northeast Tennessee and establish satellite locations to ensure access for female entrepreneurs and women-owned businesses in the region.
Roberts, a top East Tennessee State University MBA graduate, brings a wealth of experience in market research, analytics, and teaching to her new role. Her first priority is to develop a 90-day plan aligned with the specific requirements of the SBA Office of Women’s Business Ownership. She is also collaborating with East Tennessee State University to gather data from women small business owners and entrepreneurs to tailor services and solutions to meet their needs.
Aundrea Salyer, Chief Business Development Officer at the chamber, expressed confidence in Roberts’ ability to lead the center, citing her leadership, drive, and genuine desire to support and empower women entrepreneurs. With Roberts at the helm, the Appalachian Highlands Women’s Business Center is poised to become a premier resource for female entrepreneurs in Northeast Tennessee, providing access to capital and opportunities for government contracting.
