Sports Update: EPHS Lacrosse Teams Advance to Section Championships
The Eden Prairie High School lacrosse teams are on fire as both the boys’ and girls’ teams secured crucial wins on Monday night, advancing to their respective section championships.
In the Section 2A semifinals, the No. 1 Eagles girls’ team defeated No. 4 Chanhassen with a score of 11-8. Senior Avery Wallace was the star of the game, scoring five goals and reaching a personal milestone with her 100th career goal. The girls will now face off against the No. 2 seed Minnetonka in the Section 2A championship on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
On the boys’ side, the No. 4 EP team pulled off a thrilling 8-7 victory over the No. 1 seed Prior Lake in the Section 6A semifinals. Despite trailing 5-2 at halftime, the Eagles staged a strong comeback in the second half. Senior Danny Burke led the scoring with three goals, including the game-winning eighth goal. His impressive maneuver past two defenders and the goalie secured the win for the team. The boys will now travel to Edina for the Section 6A championship on Wednesday night.
